This piece was improvised and recorded on the morning of September 24, 2023 at the end of a long improvisational session. It started off as a regular improvisation and I liked how the opening chord progression sounded. By the third or fourth phrase, I made the decision to "cancel" the original improvisation and instead spend my time playing around with the chord progression. So I repeated the bass line while improvising on top of it.
If you're currently learning how to improvise, I recommend trying this yourself. It's a good improvisational exercise.
